hello
i have a 91 kdx did a top end, new reeds, new wheel bearings, did my suspension
and now that i thougt i allmost finished it, i noticed that it sucks lots of gear oil in my airbox through the gearbox venthose.
is this a broken crank seal or?
i searched on the forum that in 2011 "david" had the same problem but it was never confirmed

Re: gear oil in aibox
vent the gearbox hose to the outside of the airbox and see if it pulses. if it does, there is pressure differences in the transmission, which means the right side seal is bad at minimum.
the only time fluid creeped up the vent is when mine was overfilled.

Re: gear oil in aibox
i think i panicked to early
changed the oil and measured the drained oil and it was over 750ml....
rode it again no oil in airbox
i hope i didnt blow any seals because some of them were a bit wet
but i noticed something else when i put my lights on it idles at i much lower rpm... dont think thats normal... any ideas
also when i ride it in low rpm(without lights) its a bit (not so smooth ... dont know the word for)
btw i'm new to 2stroke

Mine was from being a bit over filled. I put a catch can on it and it collected maybe half an ounce.
Reduced RPM at idle with the lights on IS normal, you are putting a load on the electrical system, which take horse power to turn. Same thing happens in your car you just don't notice it because the computer bumps the idle up.
