sproketv sizes for woods / hare scrambles
I have been running hare scrambles last year and this year. Just curious if anyone has the main combination of sprokets sizes they have ran or any input or advice.

on my last kdx, I kept the stock size rear sprocket, but just dropped down one tooth on the front. Basically eliminated 1st gear when I was in the tight stuff. I liked it a lot, I plan to do the same with one I am building now.

13 49 for me as well. I use to run 13 52. It really depends how fast you are. I try to gear to run mostly in 3rd. That way I can go up or down a few gears if needed.

13/48 works for me. Unless I'm riding something like Carl's Diner I don't use 1st.

13/49 for me, as well, but I think this is highly dependent on skill, terrain and personal preference (not necessarily in that order). Try a couple different sizes and see what works best for you.

Re: sproketv sizes for woods / hare scrambles
The harescrambles that we do are full of deep mud (axle deep in some spots on the track), rocky & fast uphills, major pitting & ruts in the trail sections all with a clay base.....We ride rain or shine through the winter. Dead engine 2nd gear starts. last race I bobbled my start, got off the line last, at the 3rd turn I was in 2nd;
On my 200H I ran stock (13/47) gearing, bike runs strong but is probably ready for a complete top end.
My son's 220 is also stock gearing, but it is a 220, so more torque/bottom end and it works very well out there.
I switched over to my fresh 200E this January and I run 13/49 on that. It is my preferred gear ratio (so far) out there. The bike is quick, fast, responsive (even in the mud) and stays in the torque curve better.
Now for fast trails and open field riding I like 14/47.......
