Hi all,
Recently purchased a kdx200, 1990 model. Got the engine torn down awaiting parts for top end, others..
How solid are the water pumps in these? I want to run it in remote areas, Utah, Wyoming, etc. I couldn't find a thread here about water pumps capping out, so is my assumption that they are tuff er than ktm water pumps?
Easy to do, already got it drained. If not needed, rather not.
Thanks

Re: water pump
Not much to go wrong. There is a gear/shaft that runs off the crank, a single bearing,a lip seal and the impeller. That's it. The only thing that goes wrong usually is the lip seal gets old and leaks water into your transmission, and that's an easy repair. Ours doesn't use a mechanical seal like most water pumps.
