I have a 1996 kdx 200
OK so the main valve has a bar going through it that has a nut on one end and two gears on the other I can't figure out how to get the nut off if I loosen it I'm worried I'll snap the teeth off the other two Rods sorry I don't know any of there names any tips would be appreciated

It's the one we're the paw gear lines up to the white paint Mark that rod

Mine came off pretty easy, but I read on here to get a rag and wrap over the gear and then hold it with a pair of pliers while removing the nut.

OK I'll try that tomorrow I appreciate and I didn't hold the rod with the reverse nut when I was taking it off how do I know if I weakend it or not the nut that holds the paw on

Check the other end to make sure this part wasn't damaged or bent:

the rag trick worked my powervalve is black and really clumpy and ok I have to pop engine cover off to look correct? im debating on wether or not to do a kdx to 125 swap I bought this bike for 300 its pretty rough they road it so hard it blew the back hub apart I bought a complete hub and rim but its a 19 should I put the 19 on my kdx 250 and take the 18 for the 200? sorry for all the questions Im in love with knowledge lol
