kdx200 jet block screws - what size torx?

Post by bws2 »

I have a 2001 KDX200, with a 35mm Keihen carb.

I think the jet block gasket is bad, and want to swap it out.

The block is held in place by two 'security type' TORX screws.

Does anyone know what size TORX I need to remove these?

I'm not sure what size they are, I cut a slot in the with a hack saw blade, then they broke loose easily.

Thanks for the suggestion ohgood.

I figured out that it takes a T20 torx.

The threads also had blue thread locker on them so I had

to crank on the screws a bit to get them loose.

What symptoms would you get if this gasket was bad? I have recently cleaned my carb and did not remove them .

Mine was running very rich and was fouling plugs often. But, replacing the gasket didn't help in my situation.
I ended up replacing the carb and now it runs much better.

The problems for me started after I had my carb cleaned by someone else.
I was never able to figure out what the problem was and after trying many things, I just replaced it.

Mine is haveing a hard time idleing but other than that it works great. Look like the previous owner installed a really small jet so I am going to go bigger and see first. I keep being advised not to take that part of the carb apart soo .

That would be the pilot jet. Have you adjusted the idle screw?
