Pipe Guard

Post by Corey »

Hey Folks,
I've got two questions. 1: Does anybody know if they make a carbon fiber guard for both the FMF Gnarly woods and desert pipes? I've tried searching but no deal. 2: If not, does anybody know where you can get a gold anodized aluminum guard? It kinda looks like a spine with protruded ribs that are short and stubby on each side of it? I don't know how to post a picture of it. I've seen them on some bikes on this sight and I like the looks of them vs the aluminum look. I prefer the carbon fiber though. Just bought a desert pipe and want to protect the investment. I have '96 KDX200.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Pipe Guard

if you have done any fiberglassing you could make your own. It's not that hard.

Hey thanks for the quick replies. Tried looking up Banzia Brothers and it appears they don't have an active website. Darn. I do know how to work with fiberglass and I never thought about making my own. I'll see if I can look up some video tutorials about it. Does anybody know if there is another company that makes that aluminum gold-colored guard? I take it that nobody makes a carbon fiber guard .

As far as I can tell, the gold guards aren't available anymore.

Pipe Guard

If it's a Gnarly pipe, it's got the thicker gauge steel and you shouldn't need a pipe guard. I've had my desert pipe banged directly on some hard ass rocks and they haven't put any significant dents into it.

Pipe Guard

Try EBAY for the pipe guard, I've seen "universal" ones for 2 strokes on there & at a reasonable price too....have also spotted a gold anodised one too .

Note taken Slick Nick. It is a thick walled pipe. I may just go with the aluminum looking type. Thanks for all your replies.
