Recently picked up an 05 220R.
The seat foam was cut lower which sucks for me since Im tall.

Whats the most economical way of getting a full size seat?

I'd be willing to bet the most economical would be in the "for sale' section of kdxrider.net

Welcome to the forums.

You may want to just buy another seat instead of trying to buy new foam and re-doing the seat cover on the one you have now.

$70 for foam is just way too much.

Thinking ill try DIY, this guy gave me some inspiration:

I folded up yoga mats and stapled on some vinyl. just don't tell the wife and you ll be out $20 tops.

leaving the vinyl in the sun helps with stretching it and making it smooth.

(I'm 6'3" and feel your pain)

I'm tall as well. I built up the seat on my YZ by removing the cover and layering on some new foam from a sewing store using a spray adhesive made for foam . Shape it any way you like with a sharp knife (I used an electric carving knife) and reattach the cover with staples. I put a little hump on the last 1/3 of mine.

Seat Concepts.com These guys will furnish the pad and a cover----you staple it to your existing seat base. This pad is similar to those used by Corbin and others in that it provides all day comfort------and at a reasonable price. You might contact them to see if they make a replacement for your bike (I haven't used one on my KDX but have them on other bikes. Oh---and it may take an air powered stapler to penetrate your seat base-----available at Walmart for about $20.
