Just bought a KDX 200

Post by logantobrien »

Just bought this KDX 200... I'm completely new to 2 strokes and dont know much about working on them/maintaining them but i'm willing to learn. I bought this bike for 1350, not sure if it was a good deal. I think its a 98, maybe someone can confirm that. It came with a lot of extras including a extra air filter, back tire, and back shock/spring. The spring on it is for 200+lb riders I believe and the extra is for 150-190 which I need to be using instead.

Any recommendation to what I should do with it first to make sure its running right? Anyone know where I should get a owners manual from?

Thanks

Congrats and Welcome! The 10th digit of the Vin is the year. If is a 98 it will be a W. Looks like a good deal for that short $. I would change the trans oil , install a clean filter and see how she rides.

I would get some fork boots first, if you ride it like that the seals will be gone in no time
maybe back off on the chain tension a bit aswell
