Quick seal saver question

I want to get some seal savers for my '03 KX forks. I just want the short ones, but what size do I need? the 44-50mm ones? I would think those are them.

Thanks,

Colorado Mike,
I have a new black pair in the package. Once you know what size you want, let me know. When I get home today I will check and see what I have and if they're the same, I will sell them for the same price as you can get less 10%, but I will pay the shipping!

I have to get rid of them. They will rot in the garage.

You can PM me.

If Mike doesn't want them, I will sell them to anyone. I will edit this post once I know what size they are. They are identical to the ones I have on my XR400.

My intent was to put them on the inverted RMX forks but I couldn't see how to make them work with the plastic guard on the forks.

44-50? Yes. I believe your forks are 48mm.

Not that you asked...but you want the long ones..not the short ones. You really really do!

thanks man. I think the '03 kx forks are are supposed to be 48mm, but I'm not sure if that is the inner or outer tube, or which dimension they are looking for. I really need some metric calipers for this and other things.

Thanks CC, I think we were synchro-typing.

Yes sir. I believe the '03s are 48mm.

You don't need no steenking metric capilers. You just need a set of long seal savers for 44-50mm forks.

48mm is the diameter of the bottom tube.

Put your finner on the 48mm mark on a rule. Ha! You'd better hope that's not the measurement of your TOP tube, else the bottom one is gonna be liddle biddy.

...kinda like the oem forks!

HA HA HA!!! ....sometimes I kill myself........

Thanks CC, I get a little confused above 35mm... 20mm goes through trucks, 30mm goes through tanks...35 mm takes pictures. Now I know 48mm goes up and down inside a bigger tube, and keeps me from hurting my haid when I hit big rocks.

Kanuck, go ahead and sell those to whoever wants them, I'm gonna get the big ones. Thanks for the offer though.

Good job!

Yeah...all those mm things. 35 of 'em, 50 of 'em, 100 of 'em.....the more the better!

I like the tan ones, myself.

I am interested Kanuck but are they the short ones ?? If so, how long are they (even a rough guess) ?? I can't get them over here either. I can get cheap crappy (read: aussie made) one's that velcro closed rather than slide over the fork leg.

Yup. I ran them on my KDX forks and had to take em off to wash the dust out after every ride.

For subjects of the Queen, they are about 15 cm or more. I can measure exactly.

For the rest of North America, they are about 6 inches. How much is an inch? We know God created the world in metric, made screws with square drives not Philps. Does anyone use inches outside of my American friends?

Okay, be nice. I am just responding sarcastically to the comments expressing frustration about meaningful dimensions expressed in metric. I don't want to be flamed too harshly by some of you who have very dry sense of humour. I am not looking to insult anyone, at least not too much, maybe a little.

Sometimes CC breaks me up with his humour.

Let me get a little dry here- "How much is an inch?" hehehe, 25.4mm :butthead:

You are right with the Robertson heads, they are the best. Philips suck!!!
I could complain all day about philips head screws.

If KDX'r don't want em, I may take them. If they are the long ones, sounds like they are.

re: We know God created the world in metric...

Which is why the Brits have shillings, pence, bob, quid, and pounds??

Anyway, yes, He did...as an example for US to NOT follow!!

re: 'I am not looking to insult anyone, at least not too much, ...'

Aw! C'Mon!! Don't quit NOW!! Boys just wanna have fun.....

If indeed your savers are 'about 6"' long...or even 15centimeters!!, those are the SHORT ones. The LONG ones will pretty much cover the entire lower tube, even when extended.

If 15mm is 1.5 meters...then those indeed would be the l-o-n-g ones.

One of the advantages of the metric system is the simple conversion factor....

Uh...pardon my ignorance, but Jean Charest is your queen?

Just wondering......

...only sometimes? I gotta work on that..............

KDXquebec should come into this one. They just elected a queen to lead their separatiste party provincially, or should I say nationally?

I am impressed that you know who Jean Charest is - he's not a world famous politician. We have a regular TV comic who pokes fun at Americans who find Canada confusing. You would defy the sterotype portrayed.

The seal savers are short ones for those who don't know that 15 cm is short.

We are particularly proud to be the home of the Robertson screw, Olympic hockey champs (men and women), Peter Jennings and deferential politeness. Do you know that Canadians queue up and wait patiently in line no matter what the situation? We never need barriers or markers to define our queues - we just do it. amazing. No pushing, no shoving - that would be rude.

And I really don't want to initiate a rude exchange - but CC is funny. Wierd, but funny. In a cute kind of way. Usually. But not always.
Peace.

WOW! That beats the USA:

light bulb
internet
telegraph
telephone
television
first in airplane flight
MAN on the moon

If it ever gets too bad up there, take you meter stick and bash all the "invented in the USA" or "made in the USA" items.

To all of you who are Canadian, look around you for 3 things made or invented in the USA? How long did it take you?

To all of you who are from the USA, look around you and find 3 things made or invented in Canada. No time limit, so don't feel rushed.

JUST messin' with ya.

Telephone??? Are you sure of that Jason?
Check again, I think his name is Alexander Graham Bell from New Scotland, where's that?
5 points to the first correct answer! Time starts now.

Not that I am teaming up with Kanuck, he is an outwester  .

My bad.

"A pioneer in the field of telecommunications, Alexander Graham Bell was born in 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He moved to Ontario, and then to the United States, settling in Boston, before beginning his career as an inventor. "

Don't they have Google in Canada??

Ontario, I am wrong too?
He moved to boston although a Canadian citizen and moved to good ol' New Scotland where he died. This is where his museum is. No answers yet???

Thanks for not disputing the other points, or bashing the USA stuff with your meter stick. Thanks for the .ca suffix. That says a lot.

Besides Labatt's Bleu, I can't think of anything else I have had in the past few years made in Canada.
