Tire size

Post by bone7615 »

I am running a 100/100-18 on the back and I feel like I am wasting a lot of power due to grip. My suspension is tuned in good and that helps but I feel like I need more rubber on the ground.
If you had a choice to date supermodels for the rest of your life or ride dirt bikes, would you choose a 2-stroke or a 4-stroke?

Tire choice is also very important. I have excellent results in south Alabama with Bridgestone M403 and M404 tires at 14 psi.

It came with a 2.15 rim, so you may want to give a 110/100-18 a try.

That's what I'm running with an MX 51. Good results so far......obviously throttle management is key as well.

It really depends on what you're riding on (hard pack, sand, mud, etc) and tire pressure, they have a huge impact on tire choice.

+1 you get a lot better traction when you're not spinning the wheel needlessly

Check out Kenda's Washougal and *crap I forgot the name of the other track they name tires after* tires. I run Washougals and love them, the Wash II should be even better with the dual compound and center rib that they are running on them now. I run a 100/100-18 in these, but they are a bit bigger than a standard 100/100. I put a 110/100 on my son's 220 and it seems to be just a tad big, but that is what I'm going with next.
