I recently picked up an 87 KDX 200. I thought it was all 87, but now that I've pulled it apart, the cylinder and head don't appear to match any diagrams or pics I see online. Looking for some help identifying these parts. (in the youtube video below)
I'm planning to replace the crankcase/cylinder gasket and also the rings. This thing takes a LOT of kicks to start, but runs fine once you get it started.
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide.

Re: What do I have?
Nice silicone.
It is 1983 - 1985, if it is a 200. Black frame and kickstand (pegs) are "A" series model traits. "C" series had a silver kickstand and frame (except for 1988 lime green version).
The piston does not look so hot. Did you clean the top of it while it was still on the end of the connecting rod??

Re: What do I have?
I checked the VIN. 10th digit is H and it says "1987" on the sticker, so the frame is an '87. No kips.
Good to know that the motor is 83-85. That will make it easier to find the correct parts.
Yeah, this thing was held together with silicone and zip-ties. Trying to change that bit by bit.
Thanks guys !
