Okay so i have a 1988 KDX 200 dirt bike and i need to get a new carburetor. Can you point me in the direction of a good one? Any help is greatly appreciated. :grin:

The 88 KDX 200 had the Keihin carb. The only thing that I think sets it apart from the carb off of later models is the choke lever is accessed from the right side.

I came across this carburetor online and someone mentioned it would work on my bike but what do you think

The Mikuni round slide is a dependable, trouble free carb, that you should be able to get running ok on your bike.

Not always the most tunable power producer, though.

I have a Keihin PJ 36 that would probably be a good match, if you are interested.

see if the needle is OEM specific, or does it match a Keihin brand needle.

I was able to use the choke when it was on my 93', buy I don't know how well it'll fit on an 88'.

The airbox is on the left, so it has to have the oddball lever that comes from the left over to the right.

Didn't the 88 get a PWK? I'd stick with that. Used KDX PWKs are generally around ebay.

The 1988 KDX200 has a PWK35, but the choke has a special lever, so it can be engaged from the right side of the bike.
