Don't know if they have a website or where you are located but there is a store in Ottawa, Ontario , Canada called Ottawa Fastener. They can get about anything.

completely seized linkage bearings

Post by pne »

no dice, this is a one off bolt that has a M12 thread but the shoulder is 150mm to ride in the bearing sleeve. M15 shoulder doesnt exist or so i'm told.

thanks but being in Canada no doubt they would charge me around $20 to ship the bolt and then when it got to my door another $25 in brokerage fees and duty :toimonster:

That sucks. Have a family member in the states to order it from Bike Bandit, Rocky Mtn or Motosport and then ship it to you?

hey... i saw that u needed a replacement bolt for the one you cut out of your linkage....check ebay....sometimes you can find an entire linkage assembly with bolts included...these bikes are virtually the same from 1996 till 2006....alot of parts can be used from different yr models...make sure you cross reference part #'s to be sure.

A machine shop would blast one out in stainless steel for roughly $30.

pne wrote:well i had a feeling cutting this bolt would come back to bite me in the ass. Took it down to the local nut and bolt shop and they didn't have anything close. called all the local kawi dealers and it is backordered in japan until july. :butthead:

I need some other ideas. I am thinking of buying a straight metric bolt that has no smooth portion, IE threaded throughout and maybe JB welding over the threads? So that there is a smooth part for the bearing sleeve to ride on.
speed sleeves?
