Re: Need some info. New to 2strokes
Ok I'm finishing up my last tank of H1R. When it runs out I'm going to give amsoil dominator (what I run in my sons bike) a try until my local shop gets Motul back in stock..
I changed the pilot in my carb to try and get rid of the idle to 1/4 throttle 4stroking. I went from a 45 to a 43 and it's about the same.
Do any of you have any info to help me figure this out?? I have to run it hard through 2nd gear to get it to clear its throat if I putt around for a couple minutes so it's really loading up on the low end. My plug chop looked pretty good so I really don't want to mess with the main....

Your pilot may still be too big. I think I ended up at a 38 on my 220.
Is it responsive to the air screw?

Yes it is. I dropped the needle to the last slot and it helped tremendously!

Re: Need some info. New to 2strokes
Good deal.
You might try one size smaller on the pilot and pull the needle back up a slot or two. That'll clean up the 1/4 to 1/2 throttle area
Or leave it the way it is and ride!
There is a jetting guide on here that works very well....

Re: Need some info. New to 2strokes
Thanks. I've looked at the jetting guide and went from a 45 to a 43.
Guess I need to go smaller..
I was hoping a 155-45 setup would do me good but looks like I'll be around a 155-40 combo. The needles confuse me. I've got a R1174K and wanted one size bigger so I checked out the needle chart on Jetsrus and ordered what I thought was a larger needle. Boy was I wrong..... It made it Really rich! [emoji15]

Re: Need some info. New to 2strokes
I had to go to the 38 pilot as well. I run from 3000' - 7000' elevation with temps running 50 deg. F - 90 deg. F. Needle 2 clip grooves from the top. That made things a lot better.

Re: Need some info. New to 2strokes
Chippy you running a 155main as well?
I'm going to order pilots in all sizes all the way down to 35.. I'll have more room for adjustment that way..
Would you have any opinions on Needles?

try a R1173K needle which is slightly leaner than the stock needle

Ok. I was hoping for that answer, now do you know how to use jetsrus to find that needle? I tried and failed miserably

I am running a 152 main jet. The needle is an R1174K, but is actually in the 2nd clip groove from the top. I am running an FMF Desert pipe with V-Force 3 reeds, fuel mixed at 50/1 with Torco GP-7 synthetic oil. The top is removed from the airbox. Runs great!

Jet block o-ring. One of the o-rings was almost cut into, it got pinched between the carb and block.
Keihin didn't install this one correctly[emoji19]
Talked to the previous owner (good friend) and the only thing that has ever been done to it was jets so this was a factory mistake..

Re: Need some info. New to 2strokes
Gotcha. Never torn mine down that far. I've heard lots of people talk about jet block problems but never have seen one. Thanks for the informative pic. Hope that solves your carb issue.

Re: Need some info. New to 2strokes
Well I don't have to worry about my bike for a WHILE. I went down on it Monday afternoon and did catastrophic damage to my right knee.
4 fractures in my lateral patella, torn ACL, dislocated knee cap(don't understand this but it's what the specialist said)[emoji19]
And a compression fracture to my right elbow. So I'm stuck in a chair for awhile.

Man, I am sorry to hear/see that! Did you do all that damage with a knee brace on?

Not with a knee brace on, but with a Fox racing Knee guard on yes.
I can't blame the guard, my Bike slammed me into hard packed dirt. The knee pad can only handle so much.
