pros and cons kdx 200E vs kdx 200H
hey guys
new to the forum and I am sure this has been asked before but could find it via search
lke the subject says what are the pros and cons of the earlier kdx 200E vs kdx 200H ?
I would assume more parts would be available for the 200H, as it was manufactured longer. I am somewhat worried about parts availability in the future.
also, I had read that the 200E have more low end and are torquer, is that right? being an older rider who is just getting back in after many years, I am mostly interested in slow and steady.
thanks all.

Newer is always better for dirt bikes IMO. I'll be 57 in April and got back into dirt riding 2 years ago. I picked up a 220 wanting more torque. I could not be happier with it, unreal amount of fun!

Re: pros and cons kdx 200E vs kdx 200H
I have both a 93 (E) and a 95 (H). The ergos on the H makes it feel lighter, although it weighs slightly more and I find the H easier to maneuver through tight stuff.
The motor difference, My E has more "hit" right off the guns, but my H has a flywheel weight, which makes a difference. The 93/94 E bikes are supposed to have more compression/torque than the other 200's (E&H). The H is supposed to have a lower seat, but the E feels lower. The forks (stock) are better on the H. The water pump and KIPS set up is better on the H. The bottom end of the motor are the same, the cylinders where updated on the H, but still the same basic porting. 93/94 had top end differences, but I can't remember EXACTLY what they were I am thinking a mildly tuned head.
Over all, I like riding the H more than the E, just for the feel of the bikes ergos.

Adding to the newer is better, newer also means better parts availability.

E Series Pros:
- Better stock silencer (aluminum repackable)
- '93-94 came stock with USD forks with no underhang
- Early models may be eligible for some PV race classes
- Slightly lower seat height.
- Larger capacity stock tank.
- Modern ergonomics and styling
- Similar weight, but seems to carry it lower with a more nimble feel.
- More refined and significantly more durable KIPS system (big issue for E-Series) .
- Much better parts availability/aftermarket support; some E-series parts now discontinued.
- Better forks than 89-92 damper-rod E Series.
- Twin piston front brake caliper vs single piston on conventional-fork model E-series

Yes seriously, I think it was the head being different, but I can not remember what it was that made it "more powerful".newbbewb wrote:6 Riders wrote:The 93/94 E bikes are supposed to have more compression/torque than the other 200's (E&H).

Yeah, the E motors definitely have more off-idle torque....wouldn't say more power. Maybe the powervalve works better...they also like to strip the said powervalve gears.
