Piston preference?

Post by bored808 »

I'm thinking of tearin down the too end of my bike to inspect the kips system. While right there I was going to change the piston and rings. I used to only use oem back in the day. I see there are many manufacturers of pistons now a days. Any opinions or preference and why?

200 or 220? I believe wiseco or wossner? are the preferred choices. Others will chime in I'm sure.

I see I need to update my signature.
1999 kdx200.
Never even heard of wossner, lol.
The Athena one looks interesting because it seems to be Teflon coated.

piston skirts don't wear down, so why do you think having them coated is a good idea?
but doing ceramic coating on the piston top is a good mod for many reasons.
the stock piston is fine.

I ways thought Wiseco was the preferred choice of most riders on this site. Interesting to hear different opinions.
