I don't think so. Some of the guys I ride with cut a hole out of thier seat foam to help with that. I sat on one of thier KTM's and noticed they had cut a hole out of the foam, I guess to help them from sliding on the seat so easy and to add maybe some "air" cushion???????????? I have'nt talked myself into cutting foam out of my seat yet, but I might try it sometime. Dunno.

SOME sort of undergarments would help. I have a gripper seat cover on my '87 and it can rough you up if you ride sitting down. I am just assuming here, as I never sit down, even to kick start it.

IMO:
Gripper seats do not aggravate MB (sorry fuzzy). Not mine, anyway.
I bought a pair of bike shorts (Cannondale, even) expressly for resolving MB. Didn't do any good.
What does make a difference? Pickup a stick of deodorant..give your glutius maximus cheekus crackus a swipe before you ride.
Try it before you guffaw it.

Screw it... I'm going tuck 'n roll!
I have a gripper on my main ride and get MB... didn't get it before that. Now with the spare.. I'm thinking of just going vinyl now. I sit alot, give me more control in tight stuff and open fields. I like my motorized couch!

I don't understand a whole lot of things.
One of 'em is what is 'normal' for riding conditions for most.
'Normal' around these parts means one of two things: You have knees that can grip with the force of the jaws of life...or, you have a seat that holds onto your arse..AND you STILL wear holes in your pants squeezing as tight as you can.
You will find out all about that this coming Memorial Day!!
YeeHAw!!

You think? I was thinking of going au naturel....Jason wrote:SOME sort of undergarments would help.
Actually, I like padded bike shorts for long rides. I don't have a problem with M.B. either with gripper or not, but with the gripper it sure is easier on my arms. I put an ebay gripper on my KDX and I like it better all the way around.

So what is Monkey Butt?
I've never had it, that I know of, and I'm definately a sitter
Maybe you guys need one of these: http://www.alaskaleather.com/sheepskinbuttpads.html
I had one on the DR but I put it on the Strom, it's really comfy even when its wet or a lil frosty

Basically a chapped set of buttocks.
Looks a tad sore, 'eh?
But..I'm sure you likely know what it is.
!!edit!!
OK..no I don't know why..but the pic is in the gallery...In-thread-pics. It'll likely show up sooner or later. Sometimes it takes awhile. May be pics have to be 'approved' now.
***EDIT***
Not approved but formatted right maybe. There was a space after the.jpg before [/img]
That will kill it.

After reading this thread my suggestion is - Bring your own deodorant if you visiting CC!!! ROFLMAO
I've read where vasoline is suppost to help prevent Monkey butt.
For me I wear biker type shorts - which do help - but do not totally eliminate it for me.
