Ron Black (RB Designs) Get well soon!

Post by firffighter »

It's been many moons since I've been on this site, but I thought the KDX community should be aware that Ron is currently in the hospital. He had an emergency hernia surgery last week and has had some complications leaving Ron in the hospital. I spoke to Ron's wife yesterday on the phone and have been emailing her back and forth. Ron is feeling a bit better as of yesterday, but still has a tube going into his stomach and will need to remain in the hospital for another 5 days or so. No other surgeries will be needed though. Both Ron and his wife would appreciate thoughts and prayers.

Ron, the consummate professional he is, was worried about cutting my slide I had dropped off last week. He was so concerned about not being able to get to the job in quite some time, he had his wife find a brand new larger slide in his shop and leave it for me to try. All of this unbeknownst to me!

I know many of you have had Ron do work for you and he has a stellar reputation and does excellent work. We all hope Ron gets back on his feet soon. Ron's the best!

I'll try to keep the forum updated on Ron's progress.

Ron's wife emailed again today and said he'd enjoy emails of encouragement. Please feel free to contact Ron at his work email address. ron@rb-designs.com

She said he had a bit of a rough day today.

Thanks Russ

Ron Black (RB Designs) Get well soon!

Post by Adamnb1 »

That's terrible. I literally just came back from the garage with my head and carb ready to send to him! But I'm not concerned about that, of course, I just hope he continues to get better. Thanks for giving this update, and any future updates would be appreciated.
Get well soon, Ron!

Ron Black (RB Designs) Get well soon!

Ron is local to me and has done several projects for me over the years. He is the consummate professional and a heck of a nice guy. Been to his shop many times over the years and always enjoy my conversations with Ron. He's a wealth of knowledge and his work is flawless as many of you know.

Been in contact with his wife over past several days and sounds like he'll be out of commission for a while except for small jobs.

Great to be back on the site! I've always had a KDX in the garage and have a '94 currently alongside a Gasgas EC200 and KTM 300. love the KDX and plan on doing another 220 woods weapon someday.

Get well soon Ron. I got my carb and head back before Christmas and finally got a ride in last Thursday. I'm in awe, anybody with a 220 needs to do this.

I spoke to Ron on the phone yesterday. He is now home. He had a very rough go the past couple weeks. Lots of complications and a few setbacks. Not your typical hernia surgery, thats for sure. But, he's home now and on the mend.

Typical Ron, he wanted to get my slide done for me ASAP! He's a pro that's for sure.

I haven't been on this site for YEARS and did a peek tonight and found this news. Way back in 2005 Skipro, canyncrvr and myself did a butload of RB carb SSS testing with the DEK/CEK needles. Now I also found out Indawoods died! SHEET! I just got back on my KDX after it being parked /stored since Nov 2007.
