Hello fellow KDX people. First post and I'm after some info ( nothing new there I hear you say).
Long story, I'm a +50 vet A enduro rider from the UK. normal mount is a 2012 KTM xc 250 for H+H's and time card but there is a evo series for timecard (http://seecenduro.co.uk/ ) the bikes must be pre 1990. We have a gentlemans rule of £1000 max purchase price. After having a PE 175 at 18 I was looking for another but all were over budget.
Having also owned a kdx 200 c3? aircooled I started looking at the KDX range and found this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KAWASAKI-KDX- ... 7675.l2557
I have a (maybe ) partial frame number ( bike not in my possession yet) of Dy200e - 002201
can anyone help me date this??
Thanks in advance,
Steve.

Re: KDX 200 Model year??
It's an E series....Here in the states they ran from 89-94, but in the UK the year range was different.

KDX 200 Model year??
Jason, who is a moderator here has a VIN info page for USA released bikes. It says the 10th digit is the model year
http://www.kdxgarage.com/vininformation.html
Frame has been powdercoated/painted
The rear spring looks like Eibach, but don't take my word on that
First thing I would do is get under the right side inner clutch cover and checking out the return spring to make sure it's not sitting in pieces at the bottom of the case! After that reroute the front brake cable to inside the fork leg :)

Re: KDX 200 Model year??
As best I can tell, lime green bikes in the UK have a frame number, not a VIN. That was a 1989 model which would be a great pre-1990 model for your evo races. 1989 was the first year for the liquid-cooled KDX's. You won't be the first one to think of it, I assume.
