So I decided to replace the top end and fix the KIPS alignment. As I was getting into the bottom end to replace the KIPS shaft and lever. As soon as I took the right side cover off. The crankshaft nut came flying out. As I was looking around for damage and I noticed this beauty mark
Not sure if the previous owner didn't tighten the crankshaft nut to the specified torque or he did and it still came off? Would there be any harm adding either blue or red loctite when I put the new nut on? Manual doesn't say anything about adding loctite, but I a little hesitant to just throw the nut back on there and tighten it down to spec torque.

Re: Crankshaft nut came off
When torqued to spec, that nut can be tough to get loose. So my guess is that they didn't tighten it down properly.
Blue loctite couldn't hurt, I definitely wouldn't use red though.
I always just torque to spec.

Can't recall on the KDX, but most bikes use a bent tab washer on the crank nut.
