I ride an old bike, an '84 KDX200. It's a good bike but I'm having problems finding a source for aftermarket parts. Does anyone have a line on a place that caters to older bikes?

What parts are you looking for jafo? I don't know of any place that caters to just older bikes... You may just have to look for application specific suppliers. Plastics are the hardest to find and there are many bike junk yards... I have a list of several but I haven't unpacked all my stuff yet since moving. Once I find my list... I will post it. I'm not saying all of them are still in business... but a great deal of them will be.

Jason should have a good line on those type of parts. I think DG might still make a pipe for your bike... on the suspension I would consider upgrading at least the front suspension to a newer type. I will have 95 forks available after my conversion that may work. I also have a set of.41 springs that will go in em. Sprockets should still be available from your dealer... steel lasts longer anyway. You can have your rear shock rebuilt if it's a uni-track type setup. Research the heck out of your option on google. It's a great resource for parts. Also, go to the images section on google after you do a search... it will give you ideas on who makes what if you get a detailed pic of a modified bike.
Some minimal specs...

Silencer...

Sprockets....

It appears that the KDX sprocket numbers are the same for pretty much all years ...so you should be able to get an aluminum one if you want.
Here's a boneyard that has 83 KDX parts...

Thanks. See I'm new to the world of dirtbikes and looking for parts and stuff. I've been into drag racing vintage cars for the last several years. So I have an idea of what to look for but sometimes it's hard to find good sites unless I just get lucky. This site I came across because of Jason. If it were not for him, I'd never have found this site. By the way, just bought this new computer today. My old one was just way out of date. Kind of nice to be able to finally write a reply without the dang thing freezing up on me!

If you haven't already got a manual, you should check on the Kawasaki and Clymer manuals.
I think FRP offroad might have a DG pipe for your bike. They might have a silencer too. Just keep watching eBay for stuff, mainly.
