Hi guys here is a strange for you,
I've finally finished my 97 kdx 200 project but run into a snag, when I start it cold with the choke it starts up with very high revs, after a while they slowly come back down, not sure what causes this but I don't like starting a cold motor like that,
motor fully rebuilt with all RB parts and carby new VForce 3 reeds FMF Gnarly pipe,
other than that loving the bike just haven't had a 2 stroke since I was a young feller.
Cheers Phil

Re: Cold High Revs
It's normal for it to rev a little higher higher on a cold start. Especially if it's been sitting for a while, or if you left the gas on.

It is normal and likely will do it more in colder weather. You can turn the choke off immediately after starting and work the throttle a bit to keep it running.
In cold weather I'll start with choke, click it off immediately, and sometimes give it just a touch of choke for the first 15-30 seconds.

Sure thing! Just remember to turn the gas off when putting her away, pull the choke up, push it down once it's started and blip the throttle a little bit until it's up to running temp and then go rip!
