Rear axel spacer question

Post by Tioli »

Hi dumb question but does any one know the length for a H rear axel spacers and which side is the shortest (right I presme)

Reason is, I'm building my hybrid (2001 KX125) and between getting the doner in parts, cleaning the KDX parts and other I have ended up with:
2 x 22mm
2 x 20mm
1 x 19mm
And haven't a clue as to which ones fit the KX.
I have measured the hub with and sistance between swing arm but don't know how much take up is required.
My theory is if I can take the KDX ones out of the mix it will narrow it down?
Thanks

I did not think the KX and KDX had the same diameter rear axle.

Obviously they do, or you would not be asking.

Sorry I can't answer your question.

Can't answer either. In messing around with fitting a reinforced (thicker around the axle) Devol rotor guard, I ended up doing a cut-and-try spacer fit when trying to put everything back together. Also had to shim the caliper holder to get everything to line up properly. Fortunately, I have a lathe so this work wasn't too difficult for me.

Thanks so far. They are all the same Ida. They look the same except for the slight diference in length.

If all else fails I can play with combinations and free spin the wheel to see if the chain has a bias to run to either side of the sprockets.

Can't say it's my preferred option hence the post.
