What are the pros and cons of each bike? If any. I want to know which one I should get. Maybe even a kdx250 if they were made since at least 95.

95-2006(H series) KDX200 and KDX220
1. kdx250. fun bike. lots o torque. HEAVY. If you're 6' 220lb you can handle it.
2. OEM piston in kdx220 can lose a skirt and splatter. That's a bad day.
3. KDX carb on 220 is smaller than 200. works fine, makes less top end than 200. boohoo, it still rides up anything.
4. UHHHH....help me out guys, what major other difference? I think 95-96 200 had purple tank and seat?

To me they feel the same. 220 makes a good deal more of in-the-right-spot torque that the 200 can sometimes lack. kdx250 is FUN but I'm not quite what it takes at 175 lbs 5'11. They all last forever with proper service.

no kidding

i have 2 200s and a 220, all three of them original barney bikes and i do the musical kickstand dance where i swap the 2 stands between the 3 bikes depending on which one gets to go

i find the 220 to be less responsive then the 200 but at the same time it is closer to stock then the others so it might not be a fair comparison

i guess what it comes down to is this...

jsut bolt on mods 200, Head ,porting ect 220 or 225 all the way. Imo a heavy modded 220 will outperform a heavy modded 200 in everyway

Shameless plug coming...I have a very nice 95 200 in my garage that needs a new home. Good tires, brakes, chain & sprockets. Has FMF Fatty and muffler. Replaced fork seals and resealed shock last winter. $1500, includes Kawasaki manual and if you are interested, I have a set of KLX forks that will bolt right on as well (maybe $75-$100 for those). I'm in SW MO.

Good luck with your search.

I have some time to think. I guess I'll need it! The 250 is probably a bit big for me and it doesn't sound like the 200 and 220 are much different. Just depends on what I can find a good deal on once I have the money. I don't think I will need heavy modifying since I'm not a racer at all.. At least not yet. Maybe a hare scramble or two in the future but just for fun. Either way it's a kdx I want for sure!

What a deal and in time for Christmas! I know my wife wouldn't dismember me for bringing home two bikes at once. She'd really flip when she realized they were almost identical. "Please can I keep the both". [emoji16]
