Standard bore size? And is anyone selling plastics?

Post by superman27e »

What's goin' on guys? As I'm sure most of you know, I have a 1999 KDX 200. I looking to get a new top end, new plastics, ect. I found a top end on ebay, and it says the piston is 66.00mm. Is this standard size? I looked online and in my manual, but could not find it. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wiseco-Kawasaki ... 4897.l4275

Also, I was looking at the Pro X top end. Any reviews on that?

Lastly, is anyone on here looking to sell some plastics? I need them all.

66mm is standard.

This one is a better deal: http://www.ebay.com/itm/WISECO-PISTON-K ... f8&vxp=mtr

There might be something even better out there, but at least this as the rings and circlips for the same price.

$30 for shipping to Canada, hah! $90 for the kit is a very good deal, I was able to source a kit from oemcycle.com for under $100 shipped to Canada

You may want to check their U.S shipping rates, but it looks like free, so you may have an even better deal here:

Also, you shouldn't assume that you need a standard bore piston. You should get it measured.

Pro-X is OEM, so no problems there.

Other than price, it boils down to if you want cast or forged.

Thanks, guys. I was too impatient and order it from motorcycle super store for about $40 than the one on eBay. I hate my life, haha. Anyways I took the engine out and clean it up real nice. Took the lip s out and all the parts were filthy. And to no surprise, everything was completely line up wrong. So I guess my kips was not operating properly the whole time. :p

One question, though.... The piston I got has an arrow on top. This usually points towards the exhaust port. But on the opposite side of the arrow is a squarish hole. What is that for? I've done top ends before, but I guess I never paid attention?
