Pro Circuit Shorty
I would like to put a Pro Circuit r 304 shorty on my 98 220. I've heard a kx 250 shorty will work but I'm wondering what year I will need?

there are no real benefits performance wise for wanting to fit a `shorty` tail pipe to the kdx, especially the 220 ...not only will it make the bike very noisy but you may also loose some torque due to the lack of back pressure or even end up with a `flat spot` somewhere in the rev range ( mx bikes are tuned for top end so only need a short tail pipe )...fit a FMF Powercore 2 or pro circuit tail pipe designed specific for the kdx.

Re: Pro Circuit Shorty
MX bikes are not all tuned for top end.
A shorter silencer gives more bottom end power on a MX bike. Longer silencers are for top end.

You're better off getting a KDX silencer and then modifying it by cutting it off to whatever length you want. Just takes a little measuring, cutting and then drilling 3 holes for new rivets. Not that hard to do.

Re: Pro Circuit Shorty
I'm going to buy the Pro Circuit 304 designed for the kdx. I may or may not shorten it depending on how much it sticks out of the rear fender. Thats the main reason I'm buying a shorter silencer. More sound and I really don't want it to stick out past the rear fender... I also heard that it makes more bottom end power which is what I love. I have the pro circuit spark arrestor on now, the older model. It sounds nice but the sound I'm really looking for.G22inSC wrote:You're better off getting a KDX silencer and then modifying it by cutting it off to whatever length you want. MOre sound, like louder? Hopefully not. Noise is not our friend.
