Muffler Repacking
Repacked my muffler last night. Its amazing the difference that fresh quality muffler packing makes. Didn't get a chance to ride it but the sound level was noticably lower. I had a real sharp mx type noise the last couple of rides, not good. Seems to be gone now though, which is a good deal in my book.

Pick up a little bottom end? About the time you can tell a difference in noise you will also notice a difference in performance.
The State just to the north of me (Oregon...Parks and Rec) has a video they will send out for the asking that documents the idea of : 1. More sound, less ground..and 2. A properly packed silencer makes more power than a needs-to-be-packed silencer.
I haven't seen it myself..but was told it's kind'a funny too. Somebody hassling a biker about noise while he's blowing, weedwhacking his way to his own deafness AND neighbor irritation.
