Its an odd shaped "nut" what size is it?

Is this on your 220?

A circlip should be keeping the front sprocket on. Do you have a picture?

There is a circlip. Thats all that keeps the sprocket on!?

that and the forces of nature
if your sprockets are properly aligned there is hardly any reason for that counter sprocket to want to move sideways
