Fork valve ID...Attempted shim mod

Post by throttleout »

I planned on doing the shim mod on my forks while I was installing my XR400 springs on new to me 2000 kdx200. Forks are stock as far as I can tell. What valves are these? They look different than what I've seen in other shim mod threads. First the shims are a few different sizes. There's no cup at the top of the assy. And the valve may different itself????? I didn't remove any shims because they were different sizes, and more of them.

Sweet!!!! :supz: I'm thinking I need to take my springs to be tested and see what rate they are for the front and rear. The pre-load spacer is about 79mm or 3-1/8" . If the PO put gold valves in I'm sure the it's been resprung in the front and back.
