G'day read a few post on here but haven't found a definitive answer so here is the question are the rear uni track shock rebuildable ? In particular the 83, I have a 83 & 91,the 83 feels fairly soft in the rear compared to the 91 so it might turn out that they both need some attention :hmm: cheers

Not sure about the 83 but the 91 is rebuildable for sure as I just did mine last rear. I just used the factory seals as I find they last the longest. I will check into seeing if the factory ones are available for the 83 as I work at a Kawi dealer.

The furthest back I can look up parts is to 86 and it is rebuildable but parts are not available. I don't have access to a manual for anything pre 89 either.

maybe

Does it have two holes in the shock close to where the shaft enters the body? (on the cap)

I think 1984 and 1985 have that, as I have the tool with the 2 posts and a bar to loosen the cap.

OK, I see from your other thread that you mean KDX250 1983...yes, it is at least disassemble-able.

Look on racetech.com to at least see a partial parts list.

NEeeeevermind, it just says call.

It does have a piston, not a reservoir.

Undo the cap and this is what you'll find.

Hopfully the inside will look like this and not worn out or out of shape and you can get it rebuilt

Cheers
