Rear hydraulic brake light switch KDX220?

So, I am looking to put a hydraulic brake light switch on the rear master of my 01 KDX220. I have a second "parts" bike that actually has one on it, but it hits the rear reservoir, making it so you have to move or relocated the reservoir. Normally this wouldnt be a problem, but I have frame guards on the bike, and if I move the reservoir I wouldnt be able to fit the frame guard on properly. Can anyone show me some pics of rear hydraulic brake switch set ups if you have them?
I saw this, and thought this might work over a standard switch... has anyone tried this "low profile" switch? Thanks!

That's the one I installed. Don't have the bike running yet so can't say how it actually works. Tested with a continuity tester and seems to function OK. I thought the gauge of wire a little small for incandescent bulbs so I'll have to wait and see on that issue. LEDs draw less current so that may be the way to go.

Any chance you could post a picture of it mounted up for me? :please:

for what its worth, doesn't the 220 have a tab welded to the frame to mount a mechanical brake light switch ?

that's the way my plated KDX (200) is set up, mechanic in the back hydraulic in the front

That would work just as well. But I am not sure what tab you are talking about? Also where does the spring mount to on the brake lever?

the tab is hiding underneath the number plate
the spring hooks up to a pal welded to the inside of the brake pedal which is IMPOSSIBLE to capture on picture

Thanks! I guess it mounts to the little tab that the return spring mounts to?

That is an insanely long run lol

Hey wingnutks, where did you fi nd that low profile hydraulic switch? I want one of those. That is the simplest way to add a brake light I have seen. (not much room on some bikes)

Would be great for the front brake, if you run Bark Busters! BTW the front and rear switches are the same....if that helps at all.

This is the part that you need; https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/11 ... t%20switch.....
Simply remove the bolt that holds the brake cable onto the caliper, replace with that part, bleed brakes, wire in the switch and your GTG.....This is assuming you have a 1157 socket in the tail light of course.

That doesnt fit on the rear without hitting the frame or reservoir.

That's why he suggested putting it on the caliper, not the master cylinder.

Not sure it is a great Idea to have a switch mounted where there is so much movement... might not last long.

I have those low hydraulic switches on both my front & rear brakes, never had any issues with them.
