93 KDX200 tripometer - how do I reset?

Hello all - total newb here...Just picked up a 93 KDX200 and am totally psyched to picked up pointers/tips on this forum. The tripometer appears to be functional (tracks miles as I ride), but I can't figure out how to reset it. I've tried turning the knob on the left clockwise and counter (as well as pushing and pulling on the knob)...no dice. Is it safe to assume the reset knob/function is non-op?

I want to say it is pulled out and then turned. It may be broken??

Just an update - that's exactly what it was; the knob was a little sticky, but gave it a quick pull and it popped right out...dialed it to zero and took it for a 28mile "break in" ride this morning at Carnegie in the East Bay (CA)...a little warm and dusty - but what a BLAST!! I was pulling hills in 3rd and 4th gear that my buddy on his CR250 couldn't take in 2nd without looping out or clutching like jackrabbit. Bring on the low-end KDX bark!
