Is there a true reason for why I shouldn't run ATF type F in my bike? Or is it just "well I think" because I mean that's all I ever put in this bike since I rolled it out of the dealers shed. I hear it all from my dogs will be messed up to my synchros will give out. But I've known people who have only run type F and they have no issues! But I'd hate to ruin the bike because it is still brand new haha.

Absolutely. You will find many people using it exclusively, for years, with no issues. It plays really nicely with the wet clutch. I have found gear oil to be too thick, and makes for sticky shifts. Different bikes and different riders tend to like different oils, so there's no reason not to try a few different things and find whatever gives you the smoothest shifts and clutch action.

Nothing but ATF for me!

Since my motor is split, I jumping on the ATF bandwagon too.

BTW, one of the side benefits of running ATF is that it keeps the inside of your trans case very clean.

ATF for all 5 KDX's and change every 8 to 20 hrs of ride time for us depending on how we abuse them. It's cheap and they seem to thank us

I'm game for trying it. Never run ATF. I'll put it in my sons KDX200, but any thoughts on using it on my 08 RMZ450?

Sully: RMZ? Wouldn't you just use motor oil? And I'm anal hahaha I change it ever 3-6 and rarely up to 16.
Only up to 16 because of my far from home weekend rides. 8 hours a day and I refuse to change oil when it's dirty.

Not unless your rmz has separate transmission oil, then the engine oil.

No separation and that makes sense. I'll try but in my son's KDX.

Why only Type F and not other trans fluid types?

Type f is a high friction trans fluid. Helps the clutch discs lock better, less slip. Its what my efm auto clutch recommends for trans fluid. I've got no complaints using it for two years.
