Fork Spring Noise - STILL !

Post by chippy »

So has anyone installed a set of Race Tech springs that are not noisey?
I have tried every method suggested to tighten the caps without binding the springs, to no avail.
The heavier springs are wonderful, the noise drives me nuts!

I am starting to think the XR400 springs may have been the better choice!

I put a set of Race Tech .46kg springs in my Honda, Showa USD forks. No noise and worked beautifully!
These convetional forks are beating me up. The springs are easy enough to change, but noisy. Any ideas? :hmm:

Just finished installing new fork seals tonight. I spun the tube onto the end cap this time. No noise from my race techs this time.

Did you hold the bottom tube stationary, or spin the whole assembly?
