Just rebuilt top end 2005 kdx. while doing this sheared the hollow bolt that holds the spring and ball bearing on the left side (sitting on bike) under the cam on the power valve main shaft (effects when power valve opens). was told bolt 2 weeks ex japan, so had engineer mate make one up. has anyone played around with this set up at all? e.g removed one or both of the brass washers to increase pressure on ball bearing, or even removed spring and bearing altogether? looking forward to first start up and run in tomorow.

I removed the ball and spring. Brings the Kips into play a bit earlier. Removing a washer adds tension and clams the bike down.
