KDX80 Clutch Plate Sticking

Post by sromero »

I just got a 1985 KDX80. The PO warned me that when cold, the bike will move in gear even with clutch pulled in. I believe he said clutch plates were sticking together until warmed up. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Hmmm. Turns out I dont know anything about these bikes. Should I take off clutch case to inspect basket? Thanks.

pull cover
pull springs
pull fibers and metals

look at basket, the fingers will have grooves hammered into them. more than 1/32" means but a new basket. less means files then smooth, CAREFULLY and evenly

You could try changing the oil first and fill it with auto fluid
