Just so you know, the exhausts don't really do anything performance wise.

are you kidding ?
or are you thinking of the silencer part of the exhaust?

the number one performance mod for the KDX is an aftermarket expansion chamber (definitely part of the exhaust system)

its going to be tough to find a new one for your bike though, most of what is floating around is for the H series

If you mean the pipe, then the effects of a better one can be through the roof! I was talking about the silencer part earlier

An aftermarket pipe will make a huge difference. That said, as much as I love the KDX, if you're planning on racing MX, an MX bike would be a much better investment. The KDX is very versatile, reliable, and fun, but an MX bike it is not. By the time you mod it enough to be competitive on an MX track, you could have bought a 125 or 250 MX bike.

yeah, I kinda figured that
but I assumed KDX2oo was talking about the entire system

you're right though, other then weight reduction and exhaust note, the silencers don't make a whole lot of difference

Isn't the stock silencer lighter than the aftermarket silencers? With that said, no performance gains from replacing the silencer, leave the stock one on there. Just get a "pipe" do the jetting and ride! :supz:

Most aftermarket silencers are lighter than OEM, but not enough to justify replacing the stocker without replacing the pipe

If you want to race MX;
1) get a Pro Circuit pipe
2) lower the rear end and raise the front for a less steep fork angle. "steep" is for slow trails with tight turns (27 degrees) whereas choppered out a bit (30 degrees) is for handling bumps at speed. without this you might be seeing your rear tire in front of you while going thru whoops
3) make sure your suspension is up to the task (for more details click on my signature link)
4) be prepared to be passed by true mx bikes because they are lighter weight which means they have better power to weight ratio

You " should " check your jetting with every engine mod ,,,, just to make sure your not too lean.

If you really want to RACE MX
1. Get a pipe
2. Pull the motor out and build a hybrid with a MX frame
