So, I was out riding and it started raining. My back tire is already bald as cheap (got a new one on the way) and then I hit a wet spot and the bike slipped out from under me. It was a small crash and it fell on the right side. I picked it up and tried to kick it over and it felt like the piston wouldn't move. The kick starter kept getting ....stuck? After a few tries, it finally breaks loose and it started with no problem. Only now it has a small rattling sound. The bike still runs fine and feels like the compression is fine too. I can't figure out where the rattling is coming from, though.
Sometimes it sounds like it's coming from the car/intake area, sometimes the engine, and sometimes the stator case.
Any ideas?

Check if your pipe is touching the frame.
The natural rattles will be amplified if that is the case.

A fall on the right side usually results in damage to the pipe mounts, brake pedal, or in bad cases the case/water pump. Check all the rubber pipe mounts, they routinely split at the rubber piece, make sure your header springs are still in place.

Well I took the carb, intake and head off. Took the head off to check the piston. Anyways, it's not rattling anymore, so I don't know what it was, but oh well :p
Anyways, my piston is.....black, and the head is very brown. Just other thing to add to the to do list on this build.

lol, mine doesn't make any noise either when I pull the barrel off
but this support the idea that the pipe was misaligned

I had a similar problem on my 220 last year when I too fell off on the R/H side...at tick over & low rpm I would hear an unusual noise from the R/H side...kinda werrrring sound, occasionally the kick start would jam too, so after removing the R/H casing it turned out the kick start spring & collar was slightly worn which made it jump out of its location hole & was rubbing on the clutch basket...I replaced the spring & nylon collar & the problems went away...collar & spring weren't expensive but when you add the cost of fresh gear oil, gaskets & coolant plus time to strip & rebuild it soon mounted up !
