1998 kdx 200 shifter not springing back.

I recently bought an 89 kdx 200 for $200 because the kid broke the kickstart shaft. Well I got to fixing it and the spring for the shifter came off. My luck I dont know exactly how to put it back on. I did put it on and finished putting back together. Now the shifter just stays down and makes it very difficult. I was wondering if anybody had a pic of how to put the spring in the correct place or somthing?
