hey, after letting my bike sit for a couple weeks my stator coils have gone bad! The lghting and ignition one look burnt and don't have any of the protective coating on them. I Don't use my headlight or tailight so i was wondering if i could just get a new ignition one?
thanks
And also what would be the best place to get one? i live in canada and want it ASAP!

Re: kdx200 stator coils bad?
ive seen new ignition coils on ebay for about 35 USD
the lighting coil you can rewind yourself (maybe the ignition coil too, I don't know) and we have documented cases where a high output lighting coil actually improved engine performance so im not sure if leaving the lighting coil off is a good idea
a bigger question is what caused this to happen in the first place ?
coils don't fry for no reason and unless you address the issue I would expect you to keep frying them

Yeah, just sitting doesn't make coils go bad, in fact it cant make them fail.
