Pipe for 200R

Post by iswenson »

Looking at new pipes (old one is beat)

I have seen 3 different FMF pipes: Gold series gnarly torque, gnarly woods, gnarly desert. Does anyone have experience with these.

Also, where can I get more moutning pieces? The little rubber part that connects the mounting plate is cracked in half.

Thanks.

yep, those mounting tabs will do that
here is what I did http://www.kdxrider.net/forums/viewtopi ... ea#p135622

what pipe works best depends on the type of riding you do
all of the pipes you mentioned will increase power across the board but the torque adds power mostly down low, the desert up high, not sure where the gold series focuses on

The pc platinum 2 is also a great pipe. That pipe is built to increase power all over and not improve only on specific area. More bottom and top in one pipe

I have an original PC Works Pipe on mine (no longer available).

I believe the Platinum is an identical design though? I couldn't be happier - mine feels great everywhere.

FYI the tabs are the OEM tabs and can be purchased from rockymountainatv.com They are like 15 bucks each though (OUCH!)

My pipe is not in bad condition really....just kinda rusty in some spots with a minor dent. I may just wind up keeping it and doing the RB head / carb mod. I could put some header paint on or just ride as is.

I recently did a test on both the FMF ( gnarly ) & Pro Circuit platinum pipe on my 220....my advice would be to look at where you are riding... example woods , fire tracks , wide open spaces or single track etc....do you want maximum top end or do you want more low down torque ??..both pipes do what they say on the tin so choose wisely . :hmm:
