is there a way to mount the go-pro so it doesn't look like your running around with a toaster on your helmet ?

Permatex RT. Stuff adhesive / sealant ! Excellent product , takes 24 hours plus to fully cure and you'd have to hold it in place
with tape while drying. I've used just that to hold a full size spoiler on the rear deck lid of an automobile. It can be removed with
a thin knife or razor blade.

and it's why I still have my Contour (damn them for going out of business!) The new cam from Garmin looks promising though, and their software lets you use any video cam and gps unit to sync a gps file with your video. I currently run a garmine etrex vista c in track mode so I have a map of every ride (drop the .gpx file on google earth for instant ride maps!) and now I can sync the video with it so you can see speed, elevation, etc.

I have used Sugru for other things, and even used it to fix my SRAM shifter on my mountain bike. Cool stuff, fun to play with
