Hi!
I´m new to both Kawasaki and this forum so i though i´ll make a thread with some puctures just for the fun of it!

I live in sweden and had a -94 ktm sx 250 (or wahat it was called, the mx frame) and a -01 250 exc engine with a power pipe and a mysterious unknown cylinder. Suspension had not seen oil in a long time and was super soft despise my mare 65kg, but worked great in the really rough stuff.

It was my first dirt bike, dirt cheap and heald togeather with lock-straps xD Sold it to buy a -96 cr 250.
But came across a green thing... Yupp, all -98 kdx 200 in a kx 250 frame. Looked deasent so with the ktm cash burning in my pocket it was love at first sight! I cant beleve how nimble the thing is! Though it´s obviously set up fore someone a lot heavier than me, but it´s on the famous to-do-list!

A extreamly heavy cluth was solved by a new lwaver, lubricated wiere and new oil in the engine, runs like klockwork now!
Though it doesent pull nearly as hard as my old ktm, especially at low rpm, thinking about putting on a kx250 pipe as it willl fitt the frame and the relative larger expansion chamber will help with low end power?

I pimarily ride in the swedish woods, lots of ruts, trees, moss, hills and mud pits, tight technical stuff! I think this bike will serv me well, if there is intrest, updates will come. But also want to say thanks fore a wonderfoul forum with seamingly nice peapole and sorry for exeptionally bad spelling.

interesting swap! I would think you would use a kdx200 pipe, not a kx250.

There is the original kdx200 pipe on the bike as is, just thinking a kx250 might give more low end for less cost then a fmf or power pipe..

Or i´ll just ride it like a 125cc to let the other riders listen to the music :wah:

I don't think a kx250 pipe would fit. plus the stock 200 pipe sucks. the 250 pipe would have too much volume anyways.

Welcome! Sounds like a cool bike. Add pictures to a photobucket account then post them in here using the ing or url button.

Dr250r put a Kx250 pipe on his hybrid, I'm not sure if he's rode it yet but it think it would work pretty good. http://www.kdxrider.net/forums/viewtopi ... 0&start=80

Okay, good to know!
I have heard that one can open up the stock 200 pipe and find a inner wall to remove to gain e few extra horsies, may this be rumor or have some substance to it?

Also fabricated an air filter basket, coulden´t afford a new wich is like 150 dollars or 1200sek, found cheaper on ebay but shipping would be to slow.

made from moose proof wiere and stainless tig rods, modled after a -95 cr250 basket running ktm 250 twin air filters. Works like a dream! And it´s not to bad being moose prof since I have already taken one down on my ex Suzuki gsx 400 -83. Resulting in destroyed right shoulderblade (scapula), now got like 4 titanium plates and 13screwes in there. :naughty:

The riding being moose prof betwen the legs jokes have been hailing, hehe. But it´s a Nowak Indestruktable Preformance Parts Limited Edition and more will probapoly come. :drinkers:

Definitely true for the 89-94 models, as I have done it. Bitch of a job but with VERY positive results (sound, power etc... were all substantially improved). Not sure about 95-06 models as mine had an FMF with it when I got it.
