Advice on a particular KDX 200
Hey, sorry if this is the wrong section for this post. I was looking at a 1997 KDX posted on Craigslist. Owner wants $1000, if someone could advise me whether this is a good price/bad price/what to look for if I go check it out it would be much appreciated!

Oh yeah jump on it. He didn't even mention the FMF gold exhaust. Looks like a very clean bike.
You may want to ask him why the motor was replaced. All 1989+ 200 motors are liquid cooled

Worth a cautious look. Guy is crazy on new liquid cooled engine, forks, shock, etc. comments.
Fork seals look shot.

Wow, thanks for the insanely fast replies guys. How big a deal are fork seals on a KDX? I'm googling it, but if you know off hand that would be gravy

not that bad, pretty easy as far as forks go. The tell=tale sign for me is always the oily fork boots, which this one looks to have.
(yes, I have done some before)

Jason you must have been a brain surgeon or something in your previous life
Prices like that around here, that bike wouldn't be around long even if it did need $50 and 4 hours worth of work. heck I got offers for $1200 for my 89.
I'd have a look. If it pulls well, test the suspension, check coolant level, oil sight glass and such. But the price looks good to me but I always forget exchange rates. It's over $1200 CAD with the current exchange rate.
