if you get a 220, get a piston kit, open the bike up and if you're lucky and the piston has already been swapped, then you have an extra one for the next rebuild

Just to kick the dead horse, I have seen plenty of 220s that have the original piston in them after all this time. Unless it grenades most people just keep riding. I talked to half a dozen 220 riders this past weekend at the Desert 100, newest bike was a 2001, oldest a 1998, and not one of them had serviced the top end (and they were all original owners of the bikes from day 1). Too bad I didn't have a bunch of kdxrider.net stickers...I did repeat the website to them over and over tho lol
