Hello, I have a 1997 200, I've raced I think six scrambles on it. I have a new front tire that I need to put on there, however my axle bolt (which is a allen bolt that goes in the fork) is completely stripped out to a circle. Does anyone have any tips on how to get it out? Also wondering if I would be able to order a new bolt.

A pic might help. As far as I know there are no allen bolts on the front axle/hub. The axle block on the right fork leg has four nuts that go over studs and the axle itself is like a 15mm bolt head. Is it possible someone replaced the studs in the fork leg with allen bolts?

not unless the bike has been converted to a KX front end

does it have conventional forks or upside-downs?

if it does have USD forks you are in luck, not only is your axle in perfect shape, your front end has been upgraded to something better

(if I were a betting man that is what my moneys would be on)

True, given the little info we were I assumed it was a stock KDX...straight up KDX no allen. Now if he has a KX front end the right side of the axle is an allen, but even if it is stripped you can get the wheel off. Just don't loosen the axle clamps (two bolts on the bottom of the fork legs) and undo the axle nut (22mm IIRC) on the left side. Then loosen the axle clamps and drive the axle out. You only need the allen bit to properly torque the axle nut on, but you could also do it reverse of removal. And yes, you can get a new axle.
