Lack of Compression

Post by GoJarvis! »

HI guys,

I bought a 1993 KDX 200 last year. It was running great until close to the end of the season when it lost all compression.
Just wanting to know what the main causes are for compression loss and how to trouble shoot them out.

Any and all help is appreciated!

thanks.

Top end. We could guess at the cause, but you'll ultimately have to tear it down and see what busted.

presuming the sparkplug didn't work its way out you are most likely looking at a bad piston or worse
doesn't take much to pull the motor out of the chassis and unbolt the top end to see what is going on
