So I just bought a 2003 KDX 200 and noticed that it leaked exhaust where the pipe enters the jugs. It was black and oily all over. Took off the pipe and saw bits and pieces of what was left of an o ring. I also noticed that I didn't have the aluminum/copper gasket that goes in between the pipe and cylinder. I clean the area and noticed because of that the pipe has worn grooves in the area. Do you think just getting a new exhaust gasket set will fix this?
Any help would be appreciated!

Re: exhaust leakage problems
I would definitely get the new gasket and o-ring. Also, buy some hi-temp sealant that withstands petroleum applications and apply around the pipe in the area where it would be halfway in/halfway out of the exhaust flange.

Yes I agree. Permatex Ultra copper RTV works well.

Re: exhaust leakage problems
the "worn grooves" are in the very head of the pipe right ?
there should be two of them and they should have O rings on them
how are your springs looking ?
they tend to loosen up in time and that can keep the pipe form fitting tight aswell
