re-jetting

Post by Brom32 »

I have a 04 kdx200 and I am looking into upgrading my pipe to a fmf fatty pipe. I was looking at reviews and stuff and heard that you need to re-jett it. What exactly is re-jetting, is it easy enough to do yourself, will it cost me $$$ and if so how much?

-thanks

There is a jetting guide somewhere on here. It's just opening up the bottom of the Carby and changing the jets, I just bought a main jet for $8.
Fmf recommends 155-160 main jet for kdx200 with fmf pipe, stock is 160 , but jetting is effected by temperature and altitude. 155 is quite common though

07' KX125 (Completed basket case rebuild, for sale)
88' KDX200 (Not sure yet, runs but with rattly top end)
91' CBR250RR
Old Bikes: 97' KDX200, 00' RM125, 85' XR350, 94' KDX200, 02' CR80, 82' XT250, 98' CT200
