No title. Bill of sale only. I hope its not stolen and parted out. Said he'd take $140...needs cash for his XR project. I don't like the sounds of that.

Here's another that just showed up:

http://boise.craigslist.org/mcy/4363425328.html

1990 KDX 200, runs great, very strong. Front forks need rebuilt.
2000 XR 100 , nice little bike, runs great as well.
$500 each. Clean titles!
2003 KDX 220. RB Carb & Head Mods. Desert pipe. She's a runner!
2006 KLX 250 w/351 big bore. A well-sorted dual sporter.

If I were from Idaho I'd be all over those parts! ...Kinda need a rear shock and USD forks are next in line for me. Everything looks brand new

$500 is pretty good deal for that '90 if you don't mind forking out the time and money to repair the shocks(no pun intended). Just take off that oxidation on the tank and treat the plastic. I noticed it has a wiseco sticker on the shroud there...That would definitely be worth the purchase alone if everything else looks good, and if you buy the parts too you have a new set of USD forks and what looks like a rebuilt shock to swap over..$650 plus or minus $100-$300 to get everything else you need still looks like a very good deal to me

Thanks for the input. I appreciate it. It looks like some of the parts are gone already with a new listing.

Ughh...$60??!

See what he'll take for that shock...If you can $20 or $30 for it, I'll double that and pay for the shipping to Ontario

Entirely up to you of course,,,I'd probably be slapping myself anyhow for all the trouble of rebuilding my old damaged one in the first place

He kept the other parts (forks, tree) for his XR600 project.
$60 for everything and it all goes together.
Shock is rebuilt, not new.

Dang...I'd buy up that stuff in a heart beat

When he says frame doesn't have a title, what's that supposed to mean, there's no VIN on the steering column? it's not uncommon to buy a 10 year old dirtbike without registration. My brother's '04 crf250r didn't even have one.

If I had a KDX, I probably would be on it like proverbial stink on poo. I think I'm set on trying to find the 220 unless the unbeatable screaming deal comes along on the 200.

I'm not sure why he doesn't have the title. My guess is there is a VIN number on the frame. I see a lot of dirt bikes getting sold without title even if they were titled in the first place. Since many just need an off-road sticker, a lot of riders don't worry too much about it. But I'm always leery of it being stolen if no title and a bill of sale only doesn't make it easy to get it titled. Plus, it is so easy to road register a dirt bike in Idaho that I'd like to have a title, and the title is needed for road registration. My XR250 is road registered, even though it's not road legal (no horn). I could get ticketed for insufficient equipment, maybe worse, but most places we ride these bikes on the road the law is fairly lenient. It doesn't have signal lights either, but those aren't required to be road legal here.

I'm still out looking for a 220 and more are showing up on CL lately. What are your opinions on these two?

http://boise.craigslist.org/mcy/4390116689.html

97 Kawasaki kdx 220r - $1400 (Meridian)
1997 kdx 220r. Great trail bike. Low end two stroke motor. Has FMF gold series pipe, desert tank, UFO headlight (currently not working), short fatty bars, kubba link to lower seat height, hand guards, tires are good for at least another season. Comes with stock gas tank, stand, shock saver, 5 gallon gas canister, and old boots if you want them, there alpine star size 9 or 10. Bike does need new petcock, and float/seat. Super easy repairs. Bike runs great and starts right up. Motorcycle technician owned and operated. Serious buyers only, no test rides without cash in hand.

998 Kawasaki KDX220 KDX 220 - $1500 (McCall)
Not pretty, but solid and runs good. Pro Circuit pipe and silencer/spark arrestor.
E-mails will only be answered with an included name and phone number.

Not overly thrilled with either, but the purple one looks better...a touch high on price for my area.

yeah, I would pass on both of them aswell (though I thought the green one was the better bang for the buck)
keep in mind though that any 220 you buy without proof of a top end rebuild will need a new top end (or at least opened up to ensure the stock piston has been replaced)

Thanks Jason and diy. Opinions appreciated!
Those are the prices I tend to see around here. Not too many on the market as I don't think they've been strong sellers in SW Idaho.

I have heard that in your area, prices and availability are tough to come by, especially within a close drive.

Now you're talkin.. That's 5 years newer than mine with USD forks and an MX rear fender. Even at 2/3rds what I paid I'd say it's a good deal..

Those plastic radiator shrouds can be fixed up easily. If you can get it for $800 or even $850 you're laughin. Fixes are cheap for the E series bikes, even if it needs seals or any work on the KIPS or suspension, you'd still be looking at well under $1100 for a restored bike. If you do your own work.

just keep in mind that the 94 USD forks are just that, upside down forks
the don't have any of the newer USD fork advantages (adjustment, less flex) only less underhang

Still on the lookout for a 220 in decent condition. Thoughts on this one? Asking $1,500 for a 2001, original owner.

http://boise.craigslist.org/mcy/4469244653.html

Just serviced for the summer and ready to go guaranteed. I only have my bikes professionally serviced by MotoSports on Overland Road in Boise, ID. Maintenance books and records come with this bike and I am the original owner. You will NOT find a better trail bike!

Kawasaki KDX220 Motorcycle: With the Kawasaki KDX220R motorcycle, off-road riders benefit from the additional performance of a larger-displacement machine wrapped in a lightweight package with proven handling characteristics. The 220R starts with the KDX200's successful design, and then bumps up displacement for 250cc-like response. Tuned for more torque, the KDX220R shines in tighter, lower-speed riding environments, where low-end power and nimble handling are paramount.
